Our Story

Philly's Equine was born from a love of horses, a passion for style, and a name that was always meant to be.

The name Philly's is a play on our founder's surname — Phillis — and the word filly, a young female horse. It felt natural, it felt right, and honestly it felt like it had been waiting to exist.

Behind the brand is a rider who grew up in the saddle. From pony club beginnings to retraining Thoroughbreds off the track for Show Hacks and showjumping, to riding Endurance horses in Dubai, and dabbling in Reining — horses have been a constant thread through every chapter of life. These days, based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, the riding is a little more relaxed, with three horses in the paddock — Nikki, Jackson, and a cheeky little mini named Jimmy who belongs to our daughter.

With a background working in equestrian retail, including some of Australia's leading tack stores, the gaps in the market were obvious. Most brands were playing it safe — plain colours, solid pads, nothing that made you stop scrolling. And almost nobody was doing prints. Certainly not boutique, limited-run prints that meant you wouldn't show up to a competition and find three other riders in the same pad.

That's the problem Philly's Equine exists to solve.

We design for riders who want their whole look to turn heads — from the saddle pad to the sunshirt. Our collections are kept deliberately small so that when you buy from Philly's, you're buying something a little bit special. Something that feels like it was made for you.
